The movie stars actors like Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A Fox, Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe and Sela Ward.
The clip also shows that the movie is set 20 years since the last time Earth was under an alien-attack, exactly in parity with Independence Day's release year - 1996. The two-and-a-half minute trailer of Independence Day: Resurgence begins with the reminder: "It's been 20 years," and continues with "It's 4th of July, let's show them some fireworks." The trailer however, highlights how the technology developed to combat extra-terrestrial invasion proves inadequate in the face of threats from a world beyond Earth.
